Startup Building: The Untold Story takes you beyond the glamour of entrepreneurship and into the reality of building a business uncertainty, rejection, emotional pressure, family expectations, failure, discipline, sacrifice, and the relentless need to keep showing up.

Based on Jaideep Parashar’s experiences and observations as a business consultant and entrepreneur, this book explores the 99% of startup building that rarely makes it into success stories.

Startup Building: The Untold Story

Everyone talks about startup success. Very few talk about what it actually takes to survive the journey.

Entrepreneurship is often presented as freedom, innovation, wealth, recognition, and overnight success.

But what happens before any of that?

What happens when your startup has no revenue?

When your family wants you to take a stable job?

When clients reject you?

When your plans fail?

When you are exhausted but still have commitments to fulfil?

When you are dealing with personal problems while trying to keep your business alive?

Startup Building: The Untold Story explores the side of entrepreneurship that is rarely discussed.

Jaideep Parashar goes beyond conventional startup advice to examine the untold 99% of the entrepreneurial journey—the discipline, uncertainty, emotional pressure, sacrifices, rejection, family expectations, failures, and persistence required to keep building. The book deliberately challenges the glamorous image of entrepreneurship and asks a more important question:

Are you actually prepared for what building a startup demands?

The book begins with a simple but powerful idea: having an idea, business model, team, funding, sales strategy, or product is not enough. Entrepreneurs also have to deal with the psychological and personal realities of building a company.

Inside the book, you will explore:

Keeping a Check on Emotions
Learn why emotional control matters when entrepreneurship collides with personal adversity, uncertainty, and responsibility.

Some Futuristic Fundamentals
Understand the realities that aspiring entrepreneurs may face from family, friends, society, finances, relationships, and expectations.

Keep Showing—Always!
Discover the author’s central philosophy of entrepreneurship: success requires the discipline to keep showing up, even when circumstances make it difficult.

Never Missing Anything
Explore the importance of commitment, priorities, consistency, reputation, and staying engaged with the business even when life becomes difficult.

The book also tackles practical questions entrepreneurs frequently face:

  • How do you deal with failure?
  • How do you handle hopelessness?
  • Why do startups fail?
  • How do you know whether you are ready to become an entrepreneur?
  • How should entrepreneurs manage competing priorities?
  • What mindset should a co-founder have?
  • What is the most important skill for building a business?
  • How should you respond when you know you may be failing?
  • How do you deal with multiple ideas and indecision?

The author’s answers emphasize discipline, patience, responsibility, emotional detachment from failure, priority management, and consistent action.

This is not a book promising overnight success.

It is not another collection of motivational slogans.

It is a candid look at the difficult side of entrepreneurship—and a reminder that enthusiasm is common, but endurance is rare.

This book is for:

  • Aspiring entrepreneurs
  • Startup founders
  • Co-founders
  • Business owners
  • Entrepreneurs considering leaving a stable job
  • Students interested in entrepreneurship
  • Startup executives
  • Professionals planning a career transition
  • Anyone trying to understand the reality behind entrepreneurship

If you are considering building a startup, this book asks you to pause before you begin.

Not to discourage you.

To prepare you.

Because the startup journey is not just about building a business.

It is about building yourself while building the business.

    A Different Look at Entrepreneurship

Most startup books focus on ideas, funding, growth, and success. What I liked about Startup Building: The Untold Story is that it focuses on the part that usually gets ignored, the emotional and personal struggle behind building a business. The emphasis on discipline, patience, and simply showing up really stayed with me. A very honest read for anyone considering entrepreneurship.

This book completely challenges the glamorous image of entrepreneurship. It talks about rejection, uncertainty, family pressure, financial stress, failure, and the discipline required to continue. The concept of the “untold 99%” of startup building is what makes this book different. I would recommend it to anyone thinking about leaving a stable career to start a business.

Really good book to open eye for those who think anyone can build a startup.

I found this book surprisingly honest. Instead of presenting entrepreneurship as an easy path to wealth and freedom, Jaideep Parashar discusses the pressure, uncertainty, rejection, and sacrifices that founders can experience. Some sections made me stop and seriously question whether I was mentally prepared for entrepreneurship. A valuable perspective for aspiring founders.

    More Than A Business Book

What makes this book interesting is that it is not only about business. It is also about mindset, resilience, discipline, and managing yourself while building something. The author’s personal stories give the ideas an emotional dimension. The message that enthusiasm is common but endurance is rare is one of the strongest themes in the book.

This book is a much-needed reality check for people who only see the success stories of entrepreneurs on social media. It explains why building a startup can be mentally and emotionally demanding and why patience matters so much. I especially appreciated the discussion about failure and the importance of learning from it instead of becoming emotionally attached to the outcome.

I enjoyed the practical mindset throughout the book.

An eye-opening book for anyone who thinks entrepreneurship is simply about having a great idea. The book explains that the real challenge starts after the idea with execution, uncertainty, rejection, expectations, and persistence. The author’s experiences make the lessons memorable. I finished the book with a much more re0alistic understanding of what startup building actually demands.

A straightforward and thought-provoking book about the realities of entrepreneurship. I particularly liked that it doesn’t try to sell the reader an unrealistic dream of overnight success. Instead, it emphasizes patience, discipline, responsibility, and endurance. Anyone considering starting a business should read this before making the leap.
